HOW IS OSA DIAGNOSED?

Using a diagnostic study of overnight sleep, which is called Cardiorespiratory Sleep Polygraphy (PCRS), to determine the type and severity of the sleep disorder you have and the appropriate treatment.

If your doctor suspects a sleep disorder, he or she may ask you to have a PCRS at home or a full polysomnography, through a hospital or in a private clinic. Using a cardiorespiratory machine, data records the cardiorespiratory characteristics of your sleep, such as chest and abdomen movements, snoring, the level of oxygen in your blood, respiratory rate and heart rate.
